Jay Portrait

about jay paul apodaca

I met myself in the future, a moment ago and
my face was blistered by the solar winds.
My heart beat elevated above my head...
My art is my existence...
Sculptures of flesh and concrete.
Cadmium and titanium paint spread on satin sheets.
Whore moans and headstones.
All music made and then forgot.
The best in sequence...
I am, I am not.

By Demian Smith for Jay Paul Apodaca.

Jay Paul Apodaca began painting very early in life. Even as a small boy, he knew that creating art would be his life’s passion. A confident and joyous child, Jay Paul approached life as though it were art; his drawings, the shapes, colors and compositions evidence of a life filled with passion for each breath of air, for each experience lived.

Creating beautiful works of art for over twenty years, Jay Paul says, “I could have never asked for more of this life than creating the art I love. I greatly appreciate those who glimpse into my world of expression!"

The artist’s work depicts a roller coaster of emotions and powerful stories from the inner depth of his subconscious. "What's new and modern in contemporary art can be netted and neatly labeled." The artist integrates ideas from the past and shares in the eternal collaboration of art created through the ages. Thinking in terms of breaking mind barriers, and understanding that through introspection and growth, barriers can be rebuilt into ladders of higher thinking, Jay Paul creates a different more substantive art form. He has a deep understanding of what one can create and make tangible with internal vision. His imagery is inspired by both ancient and innovative influences. “I don't buy into one style are approach for long periods of time. My art reflects curiosity in all realms of expression." It is this overall dedication to the artist’s path, his prolific imagination, and deep understanding that set Jay Paul Apodaca apart as a truly inspired creator of our time!
